04 May Facebook Sacks Engineer for Stalking
A Facebook engineer had reportedly been fired this week for using his access to data for stalking women online.
The social network said it began its investigation into the issue after receiving complaints from Spyglass Security founder Jackie Stokes last Monday. Stokes also said over Twitter that she had Tinder logs as evidence.
After being contacted by Ms. Stokes, Facebook Chief security officer Alex Stamos confirmed to the media that they had investigated the issue and immediately terminated the engineer.
The incident comes shortly after Facebookâs announcement of its dating service.
