Facebook recent privacy scandal involving the data breach of over 50 million individuals has prompted majority of users to re-examine how much information the social network is actually sharing about them.
To help users who are not ready to quit Facebook altogether, CNBC has published a number of tips that could help preserve privacy.
CNBC says that data which the user does not want to share are often collected by popular fun quizzes and apps. Analytics firm Cambridge Analytica reportedly used such an app to gather personal information from users and those in their network.
CNBC also advised users to avoid adding friends that users do not really know personally, and if possible, consider using third-party apps altogether.
