06 Apr Facebook Issues Official Breach Count: 87 Million
Last Wednesday, Facebook refuted earlier reports which said that the data of around 50 million users had been improperly accessed by political analytics firm Cambridge Analytica breach.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg clarified that the estimate is closer to around 87 million. He added that although they had not seen “any meaningful impact” on usage or ad sales, it is still not good if the people are unhappy with the company.
Zuckerberg also confirmed that he will not be stepping down as the company’s chairman, saying that in building something as unprecedented as Facebook, mess ups were bound to happen.
