Facebook, Google Agree to Standards by Father of World Wide Web

Facebook and Google had reportedly opted-in to a ‘contract’ designed by World Wide Web founder Tim Berners-Lee which will require tech giants to respect data privacy.

At the Web Summit tech conference last November 5 in Lisbon, Berners-Lee called for a new contract for the web which will foist clear and tough responsibilities on those who have the power to make it better.

While around 60 other companies, governments, and business leaders including Richard Branson and the French Government had signed the contract, it was reported that Amazon did not and has not yet issued an official response.
