13 Apr Facebook Expresses Support for California Consumer Privacy Act
Earlier this week, Facebook issued an official statement supporting the California Consumer Privacy Act, a measure that it had previously opposed.
Chairman of Californians for Consumer Privacy Alastair Mactaggart responded by saying that they would want Facebook to work with them by providing public and financial support. He also called on all other corporations who oppose the measure to do otherwise.
Google, however, continued to oppose the Act, calling it deeply flawed and unworkable. The search giant additionally said that they will aggressively resist the initiative which can potentially harm California’s economy without protecting the privacy of its citizens.
