Ex-Facebook Manager Says He Warned Company About Privacy Risks

In a recent interview with CBS, a former team leader at Facebook said that he warned the company about potential privacy risks such as the one involving Cambridge Analytica back in 2012.

Sandy Parakilas, who used to manage the data privacy violations team at the social network also revealed that while it seems that CEO Mark Zuckerberg is taking responsibility for the mistakes that led to the controversies surrounding the company, he is actually unaccountable since Facebook has no independent board that can make him step down.

Parakilas also said that the platform was not built with the safety of users in mind, and that the risks had been understood by a lot of people in the company even before.
