24 Nov EU Lawmakers Push for Controls on Exportation of Spy Technology
Last Thursday, a number of EU lawmakers showed strong support for plans on controlling the export of spying technology that could be used by governments to suppress activists.
It is said that the EU considers cyber-surveillance technology to be a threat to security and human rights and thus proposed to update its export control system.
The new rules on dual-use products will be voted on in a full session of parliament sometime this December to January.
