01 Sep Essential CEO Apologizes for Security Lapse, Gives Away Free Phones
Andy Rubin, CEO of Essential, has recently made an apology to its customers for a security failure that compromised personal user information.
Earlier this week, the company admitted that the sensitive information which included names, emails, and even driver license and ID details, were accidentally shared with other customers. Rubin, however, assured that it was just an error and not the work of a threat actor.
In a Tweet to user @AuthenticDane, the CEO seems to have confirmed that they will be giving away free phones to make up for the mistake.
