02 May EITSC, PEZA Sign Data Privacy Compliance Deal
The European Innovation, Technology, and Science Center (EITSC) and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) have recently entered an agreement to make all zones under the authority compliant to the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
According to the memorandum of agreement signed last April 25, the EITSC will be conducting compliance workshops and training for companies within the economic zones, as well as provide solutions that will enable locators to assess their risks and processes, introduce controls and policies, and respond to data breaches.
EITSC President Henry Schumacher added that there is a great need for compliance especially now with the European Union’s (EU) General Data Protection Regulation set to take effect next month.
