eBay Releases New Privacy Policy

eBay Releases New Privacy Policy

To meet the requirements of EU’s GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), eBay announced that it has released a new set of privacy rules that would apply to all global properties. This means that even users outside of the EU will benefit from the change.

The ecommerce giant also issued a BCR (Binding Corporate Rules) document to “adequately protect” the personal information of users regardless of where the data resides.

It is said that the new privacy policy is much lengthier, more detailed and more complex than the previous one. eBay highlighted that they have taken steps to ensure that users will be able to immediately see how the company uses their information. Additionally, they have also provided more information on what users can do with their data, how they can exercise their privacy rights, and what happens when they delete their data.
