DDU Warns Against Dental Practitioners Using Mobile Devices to Capture Patient Data

After the NHS cyber attacks, Dentistry Scotland releases a series of warnings and guides so dental practitioners can protect themselves from future issues.

DDU dento-legal adviser, David Lauder, tells practitioners to avoid using mobile devices to capture procedures or patient details as these are at risk of being lost or stolen. He advises them to use a dedicated clinical camera that will be kept in a secure location. That if an image of a patient has been taken, it should immediately be uploaded into the clinical record system and promptly deleted from the camera.
