29 Jun Philippines to Increase Global BPO Standing with Data Privacy Act
The Republic Act 10173 or The Data Privacy Act of the Philippines is expected add to the significant growth of the country as a preferred place to invest for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), the Contact Center of the Philippines (CCAP) reported.
Learning Series Task Force Lead of the CCAP Security Council and senior director for Business Excellence at Hinduja Global Solutions, Espie Bulseco states that with the act in place, BPO firms all over the country are now required to safeguard personal data, resulting to an increased confidence from foreign investors, which in turn, grows their outsourcing requirements.
CCAP Board Director and Trustee for CCAP Security Council, Tonichi Achurra-Parekh said that CCAP has planned measure to keep the industry updated on data privacy and cyber security issues. This includes organizing Data Privacy Asia 2017, the largest data privacy summit in Asia.
The summit will be held at the Makati Shangri-La Manila on July 20, 2017.
