29 Sep Credit Card Details of Around 5 Million Sonic Customers May Have Been Compromised
Reports earlier this week revealed that fast food chain Sonic had been hacked, and that the credit and debit card around 5 million of their customers may have been stolen.
Security website KrebsOnSecurity found that the information obtained from a Sonic Drive-In were being peddled on a virtual market of stolen credit card data called Joker’s Stash which had been operating since October 2014.
Sonic has already released a statement on the incident, saying that they are working closely with third-party forensic experts and law enforcement, and will inform the affected clients as soon as new information surfaces.
