Creator of Leak Website Charged by Canadian Police

Earlier this week, it was reported that a 27-year old man was charged by the Royal Canadian Police for running LeakedSource.com, which is a website that keeps and sells data from breaches.

The site creator, Jordan Evan Bloom, was charged for trafficking in identity information, unauthorized use of a computer, mischief to data, and possession of property obtained by crime. The Canadian Police had been investigating Bloom since 2016 after discovering that he was hosting the leak website on servers in Quebec. They were able to track Bloom with the help of the FBI and the Dutch National Police in an operation codenamed Project Adoration.

Bloom’s earnings from the LeakedSource.com, which was heavily advertised on HackForums, is estimated to be around $247,000.
