28 Jul CCAP Highlights Data Privacy as a Competitive Advantage for PH Companies
Manila, Philippines — According to a report last Thursday, the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP) recently held a the Data Privacy Asia conference to emphasize the importance of data protection and privacy compliance for many growing contact-center businesses.
CCAP president Jojo Uligan stated that clients are very particular about how information is handled. If they know their data is protected, it will mean more business transactions in the market.
According to privacy commissioner Raymund Enriquez Liboro, being aware of the Data Privacy Act (DPA) and having the capability to employ the right security measures gives firms a competitive advantage over those that cannot comply. The DPA encourages the highest standards in data security, which is parallel to Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Libiro also states that impending Asean collaborations would require Philippine companies to step up their data protection and privacy measures. The move will help companies maintain clients and win future partnerships.
