Cam Flaw Allows Hackers to Access Baby Monitor Feeds

Researchers from cyber-security company SEC Consult have recently discovered a flaw in the Mi-Cam smart baby monitor which hackers can exploit to hijack feeds from such devices around the world.

The generic WiFi video monitoring system manufactured by MiSafes is often used with an app that parents can install on their phones to view the cam’s live stream. However, SEC Consult said that there were six bugs that attackers could use to access the streams without the need for authentication.

SEC Consult said that it had already contacted MiSafes and the Chinese Computer Emergency Response Team (CNCERT) about the issue, but both have not yet responded.
