British Parliament Hit By “Sustained” Cyber Attack

Britain’s parliament came under attack when it was hit by a “sustained and determined” cyber attack attempting to identify weak passwords.

In an email sent by parliamentary authorities to those people affected said “Earlier this morning we discovered unusual activity and evidence of an attempted cyber-attack on our computer network,”

“Closer investigation by our team confirmed that hackers were carrying out a sustained and determined attack on all parliamentary user accounts in an attempt to identify weak passwords.”

The House of commons announced it had been working with the National Cyber Security  Centre to guard the parliament network and was confident that all accounts and systems have been protected.
