11 Jul Bharti Airtel Comments On Possible Threat of Data Breach
Telecom Bharti Airtel yesterday said that data breach is a “real threat” to businesses, and that the company takes its data security and customer privacy responsibility “very seriously.”
In the wake of the data breach, reports yesterday claimed that customer data, including mobile numbers and other details of Reliance Jio users were leaked on a site called “magicapk.com”.
Reliance Jio responded that the claims of the website were “unverified” and that they are still investigating the matter. Jio added that they keep their subscriber data safe behind the highest security measures.
Gopal Vittal MD and CEO for India and South Asia reiterated that the data breach is a “real threat” globally, not only for telecom companies but also for banks and credit card firms.
As of late Sunday night, the account of magicapk.com was suspended.
