21 Sep Around 100,000 Canadians Likely to be Affected by Equifax Breach
Last Tuesday, Equifax revealed that the sensitive data of around 100,000 Canadians will most likely be included in the massive breach that had hit the credit scoring firm.
This is the first estimate that the company gave in relation to its Canadian consumers since last September 7. Information such as names, addresses, social insurance numbers and even credit card information may have been accessed by cybercriminals.
President and general manager of Equifax Canada, Lisa Nelson, issued an apology for the lack of clarity, adding that they would be contacting those who were affected to provide them with further measures to take.
