13 Sep Appeals Court to Tackle Issue of Video Privacy Lawsuits
A federal appeals court is expected to decide on whether individuals can sue for violation of privacy if their video viewing data is sent to outside companies.
Last week, lawyers of ESPN and Chad Eichenberger have been asked by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to address whether Eichenberger can proceed in federal court, given the Spokeo dispute ruling which was made three weeks earlier.
The same court allowed a privacy lawsuit against data broker Spokeo for allegedly showing incorrect information of a Virginia resident named Thomas Robins.
