150 million Users Compromised in MyFitnessPal Breach

Under Armour Inc revealed last Thursday that around 150 million MyFitnessPal diet and fitness app accounts had been compromised in February. The breach, considered to be one of the biggest in recent history, sent the shares of the athletic apparel maker down 3% in after-hours trade.

In an official statement, the company said that data including account user names, email addresses and scrambled passwords from the MyFitnessPal mobile app and website had been exposed. However social security numbers, driver license numbers and payment card data were not.

The breach is included in the top 5 breaches to date, according to SecurityScorecard, only topped by Yahoo with 3 billion in 2013, and FriendFinder Networks with 412 million in 2016.
